At Cory Mohr Design, our goal is to create spaces which are sophisticated, functional, livable, and affordable, but above all, a reflection of the client. To set up a design consultation for your kitchen, bath, fireplace, or design project:
This is for the individual who says,
“I need new kitchen cabinets and a more functional layout.”
or
“I need a fireplace and possibly some built-in bookcases on the sides.”
or
“We really need some custom cabinetry in our mudroom for coats, shoes, and cleaning supplies.”
or
“I had this idea for some cabinetry in our office. Maybe you could design a desk and behind it do a custom bookcase that would also be a secret passage to the bat cave.”
Clients at this level are looking for specific cabinetry-related components for their project (kitchen cabinets, vanity, fireplace mantle, bookcase, bar, desk, etc.). They are most likely replacing a specific item or are spearheading a small renovation or new construction.
This is for the individual who says,
“I need to redesign my space. Do you have any ideas on that?”
or
“My entire kitchen and hall bathroom need to be brought into this century.”
and
“I don’t mind running some places, making purchases, or organizing things to help offset cost.”
Clients at this level may be planning a smaller scale remodel (1-2 rooms) and need a strategy, or they may be reviewing their new construction plans and need design guidance. Either way, these clients need help conceptualizing their ideas, selecting and coordinating materials, and developing a framework for the project. They may or may not have a contractor lined up, but are often willing to purchase materials and oversee the plan once the building has begun.
This is for the individual who says,
“I just bought a house from 1964; it’s a total gut job! The only thing I’m not getting rid of is the original hardwood floor.”
or
“Our kids have all moved out, so we need to redo the kitchen and main living area and turn the downstairs bedrooms into my project room and his ‘man cave’!”
or
“We don’t have time to deal with it. Can you take care of everything?”
Clients at this level have larger scale projects in mind (additions, major or complete remodeling, new construction). They may or may not have a contractor lined up, but typically do not have time to purchase materials and oversee the design once the building has begun. These undertakings generally require considerable planning and communication with everyone involved and may take several months.

They are most likely replacing a specific item or are spearheading a small renovation or new construction. These clients simply need a functional layout and great cabinetry to go with it.

We aspire to provide products of the highest quality for your project, regardless of its size. To help ensure this happens, we do our best to build relationships with colleagues and proprietors whose work is also in the best interests of their clients.
The mainstay of our designer materials come from local builders, fabricators, and suppliers. We design using solid wood cabinetry handcrafted by experienced Amish builders in the Southern Illinois region, natural and formed stone countertops from specific fabricators and artisans, and tile and flooring from nearby suppliers. Other specific materials, fixtures, furnishings, and pieces are found through various specialty suppliers or made by area craftsmen. If there is something specific you’re looking for but just can't find, please feel free to contact us. We can help.
We can also present eco-friendly options for our clients. We have many environmentally friendly processes and materials in a variety of styles. Many clients find these options important when settling on a final direction for their project.
